Good News Clubs
Now More Than Ever Children Need the Gospel
You can bring the Gospel to children

Can the Bible be taught in public schools?
Yes! The Gospel is being taught freely in public schools all over the world, and now children in the United States have that opportunity as well! In 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Clubs v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. With parental permission, all children can attend Good News Clubs.
Who teaches a Good News Club?
Believers who are invested in the eternal wellbeing of children work together, volunteering their time and energy, to lead Good News Club. They are trained by CEF to run a club that is exciting and informative so that children will enjoy coming. All participants are required to sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization. Adults working with the program are screened according to our child protection policy and Pennsylvania state laws. Local churches have also started adopting public school Good News Clubs.
What happens in Good News Club?
During the 90-minute program, trained and screened volunteers present the following activities:
- Dynamic Bible lessons
- Memory verses
- Creative learning activities such as crafts and games
- Meaningful songs
- And so much more …
How can my church adopt a Good News Club?
CEF offers church partners a strategic plan, materials, training, support and mentoring. Through a God-centered partnership between the local church and CEF, children’s lives change and churches grow.
Churches come to the partnership with the most important ingredient: God’s people. A team from your church will bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the school children. CEF offers specialized training for this endeavor.
CEF takes care of the major logistics of getting a club started: contacting the school, providing liability insurance, and conducting background checks. Contact us today to find out about a local school your church can adopt.
How can I get involved in a Good News Club?
Volunteers have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children, parents, and school employees. Most clubs run for 6-8 weeks in the fall and/or spring. Volunteers will lead various segments during the club, help with registration, hand out snacks, and build relationships. Training is held prior to the start of the Good News Club season and continuing support ensures the success of every club.
